No Plagiarism Writing Service

“I bought a paper from another site and ran it through a plagiarism detector. The paper failed miserably. Can you help me?”

You would not believe how many times we have been asked this question. But, in the immortal words of Douglas Adams (author of “The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy”) – DON’T PANIC! If you have already panicked, take a deep breath and try to regain your composure. All is not lost. This is one of several curses that haunt our industry. Many companies, claiming to be custom essay writers, do nothing more than copy and paste from websites and previously written essays that they keep in generic databases. The information isn’t rewritten or paraphrased to any extent and sets off plagiarism alarms that can be heard for a hundred miles. To make matters worse, no citation regarding the information can be found anywhere. This issue can make it rather difficult for potential customers to locate and select reliable writing services. Many of the offenders claim to have money-back guarantees if plagiarism occurs, but such money-back claims, along with alleged guarantees of the paper being plagiarism-free in the first place, can vaporize in an instant. Frequently the owners of the fraudulent sites actually live in Asia, Africa or an Arab nation, beyond the reach of American or British law. Your guarantee, and your money, can disappear with the simple erasure or abandonment of their website. Our team of professional writers can either repair the damage by rewriting the offending portions supplied by these dishonorable … ahem, I shall be polite and call them gentlemen … or by locating and documenting appropriate sources of the information. Depending on the extent of the offending materials, one of our writers may recommend a complete rewrite of the entire document.

Why is Plagiarism an Issue?

Plagiarism is the intentional claiming of someone else’s words or works as your own. The problem with the scenario above is, you can’t really tell your professor that you used a service to defend yourself as many of them, erroneously, believe use of services like ours is plagiarism in itself. Plagiarism is viewed, rightly so, as a form of theft and dishonesty. It is a subset of copyright infringement in that you are not claiming the entire work as yours or publishing it without authorization, but are doing so regarding small portions of a copyrighted work. Though some try to use the “fair use” doctrine to defend their actions, “fair use” requires acknowledgement of the original source to be legitimate. Essentially, fair use requires appropriate citation, the one thing that alters the nature of the information from an act of plagiarism into a fair use of the resource material. Some cite the problem of insufficient availability of author data or copyright indications as grounds to consider some Internet sources as being public domain. This is a sticky topic, but it is limited to the issue of copyright. Plagiarism, though related, is a separate and distinguishable issue involving attribution, not copyright. Every effort should be made to establish where the information originated, and if possible, who wrote it or who claims copyright to it.

The Effects of Plagiarism

Plagiarism can have many consequences. Plagiarism being an act of intellectual theft instead of physical theft bears very little on the issue. In an academic environment, plagiarism can be as simple as an embarrassment and an “F” on the offending assignment or as serious as expulsion and cancellation of your academic achievements at the institution in question. Plagiarism in professional arenas also has significant consequences. In professional work, expensive lawsuits have frequently arisen from situations of plagiarism. In some cases defendants have been able to successfully convince juries that they literally knew nothing about the allegedly offended materials, writing their materials completely free-form and the claimed plagiarism was simply a coincidence of similar wording on the same topic or idea. Other defendants have not been so lucky, finding themselves owing the plaintiff large sums in punitive damages.

Avoiding and Repairing Plagiarism Problems

The number one technique for avoiding accusations of plagiarism is documentation. The sources of all research information should be documented as to where it was found, who wrote it, when it was written, and if available where it was published. Annotation of the resource type and significance of the resource can also be required under certain citation styles and should be recorded as well. The second technique is in-text citations, letting the reader know what information came from other sources and allowing the reader a chance to verify the information or giving the reader a point of reference to continue their own research by accessing the related article or resource. Repairing plagiarism problems in a paper may require researching the topic material again and either locating the original source or by locating another source that also gives the same information. A new citation and source documentation can then be established. Often times a rewriting of the offending passage is also necessary. As mentioned before, our writers may, depending on the depth of plagiarism, recommend a complete rewrite of the document.

Our Own Anti-Plagiarism Efforts

In an effort to avoid plagiarism ourselves, each writer is encouraged to use resource management software to properly document all sources and to utilize plagiarism detection software themselves to catch problems before ever turning in the assignment. We also attempt to catch such problems at the administrative level prior to releasing the document to the client. Note that we do not claim to fire a writer if a problem crops up. We realize that oversights can happen, though we do our best to catch them. Even with modern anti-plagiarism software and all possible due diligence, accusations can happen if for no more reason than the massive volume of information available over the Internet. There was a recent story about a professor raising questions about a paper turn in by one of his students. When the paper was put through plagiarism detection, it came back as significantly suspicious. When the document was re-examined manually by comparing its content against the plagiarism report, it was noted that the professor did not take into account that the “questionable” passages were direct and properly cited quotes from a scholarly Internet source. All this extra work is to prevent any impression of plagiarism hanging over our clients. We take pride in our work and want our clients to receive the best grade possible on every assignment. It is this mentality of pride and honorability that we attempt to incorporate into everything that crosses our desks and is why every assignment is treated with care and due diligence by our writers, regardless of size or academic level.
