All Quiet On The Western Front

"All Quiet On The Western Front," was an excellent portrayal of World War One. The writer did a great job of showing us what war is really like.

The movie also displayed the reality of war. For instance, it showed the parades in the streets when the soldiers were going off to war. The teachers were really pressuring and encouraging the students to join the war and go fight for your country.

In the movie when the young men got there they were all so afraid and scared. Those kinds of feelings would be how a lot of the men felt in World War One. The movie shows one of the friends getting shot on the very first night that they got to the front. One of the boys jumped out of the hole and went to drag him back so they could save him but he was already dead. That scene really demonstrated how there were so many casualties in the war. The food shortages were very realistic. You didn't get three meals a day you got food every couple days.

The movie did lack a couple of things though. Tanks played a big part of war and there was not even one tank in the whole movie. Also gas warfare was used and there was only one time it was used in the movie.

The movie did show that the war used air planes but didn't portray the use of planes enough. Air planes were used to see what the other side was doing and later on they were used to fire on the enemy. The only three things that the movie didn't accurately portray were tanks, planes and gas warfare.

The movie still did a good job of showing us what the war was like. The point of the movie was how horrible war really is. It showed us the true horrors of war. The movie did a very good job of portraying World War One.
