Violence on TV
Recently, the U.S government posed a question on whether or not violence on TV should be regulated. I believe that government should regulate violence on TV, because of the affect violence on TV has on children. What kind of audited is society portraying itself to have, and violence on TV is only in encouraging the crime rate to escalate.
First of all, the government should regulate violence on TV because of the affect violent has on children. Children s minds are too undeveloped and are not able to differentiate right from wrong. In addition, children also tend to mimic every thing they see on TV. Children view violent cartoon characters, and do not comprehend that a person can die. The child only notices the character always comes back the next week. Lastly, the one thing children can do without is nightmares. Their minds do not need to be cluttered with grotesque acts. Most importantly, they need to concentrate on more necessary things such as school and physical education, not shooting some one!
Secondly, the government should regulate violence on TV because of the image society is portraying to itself. To begin with, the reputation the American society is giving itself is not so healthy. Americans are portraying themselves as a culture that thrives on violence, instead of good morals and fare and equal rights. Furthermore, by allowing violence on TV, other countries are starting to see that the American society is nothing more than bloodthirsty, trigger-happy brutes. Finally, by not censoring violence on TV society in a way is teaching and encouraging our younger generation to be more violent.
Thirdly, the government should regulate violence on TV because it is encouraging crime to escalate. Watching a violent movie on TV gives people a desire and a kind of rush which can push an all ready violent person over the line and as a result, a crime is committed. Furthermore, violence on TV only gives people who are already committing crimes ideas on how to perform the next crime. Lastly, violence on TV encourages normal citizens who have been wronged to take the law in to their own hands. In other words, it promotes anarchy, which is most defiantly, the last thing this country needs.
No matter what way crime on TV is viewed, it always spells trouble. There is no way around it violence on television, should be band by the government. Violence on TV only destroys children s minds, corrupts our society, and encourages crime on our streets. Plain and simple, there is just no room in America for that type of garbage.
