What is love?
It's silence when your words would hurt,
It's patience when your neighbor's curt,
It's deafness when the scandal flows,
It's thoughtfulness for another's woes,
It's promptness when stern duty calls,
It's courage when misfortune falls.

My interpretation of the poem "What is love" is that the author was in love and he had to do all these things. He eventually got sick of being kind, patient, and thoughtful but heshe was in love with hisher partner and didn't want to flip out and risk losing himher. In his desperation to unload his feelings he wrote a poem about what love was hence the title "What is love?"
Opportunity
When one door closes,
another opens; but we
often look so long and
so regretfully upon the
closed door that we
do not see the one
which has opened for us.
By: Alexander Graham Bell
This poem was written by Alexander when he missed a opportunity and harped on it for a while and when he finally got his self together he realized that he missed another opportunity. He then went into another depression of sorts (in doing this he disobeyed his own words of not regretting your losses)while he was in this "depression" he write this poem about how you should not pity yourself after letting a opportunity to do something slip away.
LETTERS
Letters are a silken thread
That runs from heart to heart,
Weaving a web of things unsaid
When we must be apart.

I think this poem was written by someone who was in a World War. He had a girlfriendwife at his home town and they communicated through letters for the longest time. On one of his letters he wrote this poem about how he letters are the thread that is tying the two lovers hearts together while he is away at war. "Letters are a silken thread" is saying that all the letters that they have written are a passage way. "That runs from heart to heart" is saying that the passage way is connecting the two lovers hearts together.
Good Riddance (time of your life)
Another turning point, a fork stuck in the road. Time grabs you by the wrist, directs you where to go. So make the best of this test, and don't ask why. It's not a question, but a lesson learned in time. It's something unpredictable, but in the end is right. I hope you had the time of your life.
So take the Photographs, and still frames in your mind. Hang it on your shelf of good health and good time. Tattoos of memories and dead skin on trial. For what it's worth, It was worth all the while I hope you had the time of your life. It's something unpredictable but in the end is right, but I hope you had the time of your life. It's something unpredictable but in the end is right, but I hope you had the time of your life.
By: Green Day
I think this song was written by Green Day about a big change ("a turning point in the road" if you will)in the groups life (maybe the end of high school or collage)when the friends could have been torn apart. Looking back on this time the band write a song to help people through similar simulations. The song says "So make the best of the test, and don't ask why" This is implying that there is a test that the friends have to get passed, and it is a test of there friendship and as a result of the test there friendship will be stronger. Throughout the song " It's something unpredictable, but in the end is right." is repeated. This is implying that the test is hard and the friends might get split up. "I hope you had the time of your life" is always after it and this is a sine that they are wishing each other luck and telling each other to enjoy the times they had.
