To impeach Clinton would be ridiculous. His crimes are forgivable and do not impair his ability to run the country. It is true that he lied under oath, but he did it to try to save face in front of his wife. If anybody has an illegitimate relationship and is confronted for it, his or her first reaction would be to deny it. That is just what Bill did. He made a mistake and attempted to cover it up, poorly. Past presidents have had wrongful relationships with other women, but they were not persecuted or even harshly scolded for it. It is not a major issue and is forgivable especially with an apology. The President did indeed apologize for his misdeeds, not only to his wife and family but also to the American public for being a poor figurehead. It is not a crime to cheat on a spouse. If his wife wants to reprimand him it is her decision the government and the people should not take it upon themselves. This event drastically changes the public's perception of the president. The problem with this fact is that no one cares very much. When people look at Bill Clinton they do say he is a pervert, sicko, or etc. but they do not want to do anything about it. He has been doing a decent job so far with our country, so why ruin a good thing just because he made a social error? Children do not look up to the president most of the time anyway when there are more exciting athletes, actors, and astronauts to be worshipped. Even if children wanted to be like him they would want to be the president, not an adulterer. Time-wise, it would be a hassle and a waste of resources. The impeachment process is long and painstaking. Considering after about half a year it is only one-sixth through, it would take many months to complete the process. This is not the best plan considering Clinton only has two years left in office so what would be the point of impeaching him? All it would do would be to discredit him and the democrat party for the next presidential elections. At this point the republicans are just using the whole ordeal as a way to scorn the president and help them to secure the presidency for the next term. To impeach the president would be pointless, wasteful, and inconsequential. Just leave Bill alone.
