Like water for chocolate-writing assignment
In my passage Tita and Pedro finally have the house to them selves, and finally they don't have to hide their love. They can make love without caring if someone knows or sees them. After 22 years that they waited they can finally come together, and share their love.
(Page: 245) "There at its entrance was the luminous figure of Pedro waiting fir her. Tita did not hesitate. She let herself go to the encounter, and they rapped each other in a long embrace; again experiencing an amorous climax, they left together for the lost Eden. Never again would they be apart."
When I read this passage I really saw that their love was true, and would be forever. I saw that they really were soul mats. This mean that they loved each other so much that they died just to be together forever. This reminds me of Romeo and Juliet. They died for their love, and here the same happened. They had a hard life, they couldn't be together because of people that were in their life, but now, they finally were together, forever!!!
When I read this it made me think about the strong feeling that they had for each other. They truly loved and cared for each other. And now they will be together forever.
This passage is very important to the rest of the book because all the time when the story id told, there is a big part about their love for each other. They even married other people through out the story and at the end they ended up with each other. This also can relate with Tita's love for cooking. A big part of the book is about so sort of love. The book tried showing us what two people go through for love. They had to hide their love so other people would not get hurt, but by doing that they only hurt themselves because they were not with the person they loved. The book told made us think that they would never be together because of people that would not let them be together, but then we are told that they finally ended up in each others arms, and they didn't care about anything other people say. The entire novel they were trying to be together and then at the end they are finally happy TOGETHER, but then they are so happy that they just die from happiness, and they spend eternity together.
