There is nothing plane about the book Airframe by Michael Crichton. His nonfictional book uses technical information to explain a mid-flight problem that killed 3 people and injured 57. Casey Singleton is a woman that works for a company that tries to find out problems with their TransPacific airplanes. She is investigating the TransPacific flight 545 that killed 3 people and injured 57 people.

This book is a well-written book. The author does a good job explaining and describing events, such as, "That airplane exceeded its design G-loads by a hundred and sixty percent. That guy subjected the airframe to forces it was never built to withstand." Some of the words he uses are big and technical, and I think the author should use smaller words, and/or simpler words.

My favorite part of the book is when Casey Singleton and her pilot try to simulate what happened to the plane to cause it to kill 3 people and injure 57 people. When they are about to take off, a reporter by the name of Ms. Malone, wants to get on the plane, so she can report what happened on the TransPacific flight 545. So Casey lets her on the plane. When the plane is in the air, they simulate the swoops and climbs of the plane and Ms. Malone gets really sick and throws up all over herself. The plane was diving very steeply and then climbs very steeply. Ms.Malone is so sick that she makes the pilot stop the simulation and land the plane. This is my favorite part because Ms. Malone didn't know what she was in for, and she paid for it.

I think that the author wrote this book because it was a true story and a very frightful event. I think his purpose was to explain why problems like this go wrong in planes. Also he wrote this to show people that it is not always the planes fault for problems or things that go wrong.

I thought this was a really good book because it was interesting and taught me things I didn't know. This book was interesting because there were many interesting facts that I didn't know like parts of planes. I would recommend this book to Adults and high school age kids because it is hard to read and understand. Also a person that likes technical information would love this book.
