Genocide is the deliberate and systematic destruction of a group. Or in simpler term the killing of one group due to their nationality, religion, color of their skin, extra. Now the first thing that probably popped into your mind is the Holocaust and what happened there. But what you should really be thinking about is how to prevent this from ever happing again.
Everyone knows about the Holocaust and what the Germans did to the Jews and other people. How Hitler convinced the Germans to killed Millions of Jews and millions of other people who weren t German due to the fact that they didn t have blond hair and blue eyes. The way I figure is the only way to stop this from ever happening again is to learn about it in school because History tends to repeat it self.
Now what does that mean? It means that if we don t learn about it in school terrible things like the Holocaust are about to happen again. And an example of that is World War I and World War II. If people had learned how terrible World War I was, do you think that they would have wanted a World War II, probably not. The Holocaust is also an event that repeated its self because before the Holocaust, catholic people were killed because of their beliefs. So if people are taught how terrible the holocaust was and what a terrible thing genocide is they would learn to prevent it from ever happening again in the future.
In conclusion I believe that in order to prevent genocide from ever accruing again we must teach people how bad it is, because the fact is that next time it might not be Jewish people. It might be Koreans, Columbians, Chinese, Dutch, Irish, French, or maybe people who are Christian and people who don t believe in god. And it might be worse due to modern technology. The fact is this should never happen again especially from now on because we are taught about it in school. And this is the start of a new century and we should keep it clean of war and hatred.
