CLONING
The recent scientific success of cloning is a controversial topic in today's world. The act of cloning is defined as "making multiple, identical copies" of an organism by the American Heritage College Dictionary. Xeroxing is a common practice of school and business people which also involves making multiple, identical copies. Xerox and cloning are significant scientific findings, which are beneficial in our society but can be misused or abused if people become careless.
Cloning is an astronomical accomplishment, as was the invention of the Xerox Machine. The Xerox Machine has helped society a great deal enabling today's businesspeople to save a great deal of time. Cloning will also save time by allowing virtually cloned organisms to be in two places at once.
People do not realize the significance of Xeroxing a piece of paper, and it makes an identical copy. Xeroxes are very detailed images and are often taken for granted. Scientists have now made it possible to duplicate organisms in the same way that Xerox Machines duplicate imagines.
Business people Xerox papers daily with out thinking twice. Most of the paper is carelessly thrown in the trash. Could cloning also eventually occur an as careless act? Would it not be scary to think that scientists would Xerox a person or animal in the same mindless manner that a secretary copies a piece of paper?
Cloning and Xeroxing are two significant discrovies that have allowed man to save time and to copy objects. Cloning should not be thought of lightly. If people are viewed as pieces of paper then society will throw them away also.
