There is some good soil there and it can all be used for farming if the land is irrigated enough. There are a few extended areas of dunes only and not too much desert there. We are talking about North Africa and Southwest Asia. The Dead Sea is 9 times saltier than the ocean.

There are some fertile coastal plains that are found along the Mediterranean coasts of the Caspian Sea and the Persian Gulf. There are also some on the coasts of North Africa and southwest Asia.

The Nile River is the longest river in the world. It starts at the equator and goes through Egypt and into the Mediterranean Sea. The river is an important resource to the people of Egypt. Most of the land is home to 90 percent of the Egyptian people.

Vial-soil deposits are sand and mud made by the flowing water of the Nile River. There are lots of them there. They mostly form deltas - a section that forms at the rivers mouth and it looks like a delta from the Greek alphabet.

Wadis are the streambeds that are dry except when there is some heavy rain. There are a lot of minerals there. Phosphate is a chemical compound that is often used in fertilizers. It is a very important resource in Morocco.

The deserts there average 10 inches a year, and sometimes less. There are desert climates there as well. Oases are also an important part of the desert. An oasis is a pace in the desert that holds water.

Many farmers there grow cereals to live off of and sell in the market. Cereals are grains such as barley, oats, or wheat that are used to make food. The Atlantic Ocean and the Mediterranean Sea are major factors of precipitation there.

In the steppe climate, there is pastorilism. That is the raising and grazing of livestock. Most of them are sheep, goats, and camels. There is also a lot of natural vegetation there.
