Introduction Many people have illnesses that could be fatal with no cure , some of these illnesses leave the person unable to speak, unable to hear, and just a complete vegetable. Some of these people would just lay in the same bed or sit in the same seat 24hrs a day just waiting for the illness to get the better of them. These people are unable kill themselves as they cannot move, cannot get anyone else to kill them because it is against the law. I am for Euthanasia, I don t believe that people need to suffer unnecessarily. Main Points1. It s the patients life and no one else knows what the patient is going through. So how can they judge if people should live or die.2. The terminally ill are going to die anyway and if euthanasia is allowed it may prevent the pain and suffering.3. If euthanasia were allowed it will stop the burden on families eg. If a child is deformed (psychologically or physicaly).4. If organs are undamaged they could be used in transplants and that may save the lives of others.5. If euthanasia is allowed it will stop the suffering of the loved ones, watching patient slowly die. Cause I m sure the loved ones don t want to see them slowly dieing, they just want them to go peacefully and painlessly. OPPOSING POINT OF VIEW According to the bible "thou shall not kill", people shouldn t just give up on life, they should live it out to the end. Look at Chris Reeve he is paralysed, he has not given up in fact he has being looking for a cure and has nearly found one. So therefore people should just make the most out of life.
MY POINT OF VIEW Not all people believe in Christ so therefore they do not read the bible. Why should people live their life suffering major pain unable to do anything and putting friends or family out of their way to help the patient. The person and families suffering are the only people who are suffering the pain and emotional pain so they should be the only ones who can say if they want to die or not.Yes Chris Reeve has done well in researching lots of support and help, but he is able to pay millions of dollars, He can afford, to change the things he does and the way he does them as he has money to rearrange his house, build little things around the house to help him out and have domestic help and people to help him out. Not all people suffering from illnesses can have domestic care and change the house as they cannot afford the bills. ConclusionIn conclusion do you believe people should be made to suffer? I don t, I believe it is up to the individual to choose whether they are going to die, not some stupid ignorant politician who is not suffering from a terminal illness it is up to people who are suffering. Maybe one day a politician will get sick with a terminal illness and they want euthanasia, how is the politician going to feel?So euthanasia should be made legal to the ill but there should be some guidelines. Must be checked to make sure they are sick and must be checked if they are mentally sick and they need to be examined by more than one doctor.
