Essay, Research Paper: Mr. Walt Disney, You're My Hero

Many people believe that a hero is a person that has defeated great strengths to save an object in need (hero 566). My definition of a hero is a person noted for special achievements in a particular field. Walt Disney, who is noted for his outstanding literature and film production, has lived up to my idea of a hero. He has become a local icon in the eyes of people around the world. Disney has started new ideas in the film industry, made his company worldwide, and has benefited children (Disney 1).
Since the creation of animation, many people have placed their images and thoughts on film. Walt Disney was not the first to do so but was one of the first people to create images in the film industry. Disney's company has started new ideas and created amusement parks for children.
This hero has revolutionized the way films are viewed today. He created the first animated cartoon with incorporated music (Disney 1). The concept of synchronizing music and film became the new rage among his peers in the late 1920's. Walt also developed legendary character that would become icons in the future. Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck are some of these characters that have become models around the world.
Amusement parks play a large part in people's lives because they give people a place to escape to for relaxation. In 1955, Walt Disney decided to build an amusement park filled with all his fictional creations (Disney 1). He wanted people to enjoy his fantasy as a reality and not as fiction. After the success of the first amusement park, Walt decided to create many more for people to enjoy.
Walt Disney slowly became an icon worldwide when his work became popular in other countries. He slowly filtered his works and parks to other countries making him a hero to many people worldwide.
With the demand for Disney's movies in foreign countries, his company had to find ways of showing his films to people around the world. Disney's company began to produce films with subtitles and dubbing for foreign children to enjoy (Disney 1). His heroic status increased with children around the world.
Similar to America, Disney began to build amusement parks in foreign lands. These lands included Japan and France. Foreign people could now experience what American children have experienced for many years (Disney 1).
Walt Disney was a hero to many children because he produced images to make them happy. The movies showed children beautiful ladies and handsome princes dancing and singing. His movies provided children with entertainment and fantasies.
Many of Walt's movies provided children with entertainment. Movies, such as Snow White, showed children color and happiness. The climax of the movie, when Snow White defeated the witch, showed children that the good person always prevails. While the child is being entertained, the movie can teach the child morals to last a lifetime.
Disney's movies also create fantasies for young children. Many children dance and sing to the songs of Cinderella, wishing they were in the setting of the movie. These movies can give children hope and memories throughout their childhood making their imaginations grow.
Disney is a hero to many people because of his creations. He created new ideas in the film industry, spread his works worldwide, and benefited children's lives with entertainment and fantasies. He has been noted for his special achievement in the animation field, therefore making him a hero.
