Image having a good day at work, and you come home and you think of how well the day went. Well, have you ever sat back and thought about that same day but thought of it in a negative way? One can take a setting and look at it in two different perspectives. I m going to give you an example of this.
I had just finished baseball practice and was ready for a warm meal from the meal exchange downstairs. I first return to my room and throw on some shorts and a fresh smelling shirt. Then I headed down to eat. On the way down, I met up with some guys and they came down to join me. We get there and we decide that we are going to have pizza. I ordered two freshly baked pepperoni pizzas and a large Coke. The food was made quickly and was given to us as soon as it was ready. We sat down to eat at a clean squared table. The pizza tasted great. It was made just the way I like it, a bunch of pizza sauce that tasted like it was right from the factory, and lots of pepperonis that tasted excellent. The room was like a fall day, nice and cool, and the people in there were happy and talkative. There were people in the game room having a wonderful time playing pool and ping-pong, and everyone was just having a great time.
When we were done with our pizza, we decided to get some ice cream to cap off the meal. I ended up getting vanilla ice cream with chocolate sprinkles, and it was really good. After the ice cream we headed back up to the rooms to play the playstation. It was really fun.
After a hard day at baseball practice and a lot of running, I was in need of a good meal. I first went back up to my room so I could put on some different clothes. On my way up to the room, I passed a couple yelling and screaming at each other. It was very annoying. When I was approaching my room, there was this awful smell of sweat and body oder. Both the football and baseball players had just finished with practice, and the hall had a very bad smelling oder in it. I put on a clean shirt and a pair of shorts. On the way down to the meal room, I met up with some friends and they decided to come with me. When we entered the meal room, there was an irritating smell of onions. I had squinted and found out that it was because a lady dropped her food on the ground. The smell went away and we were trying to decide what we wanted. I ordered two slices of pepperoni pizza and a large Coke. When the Coke was given to me, it was all watery and did not taste good at all. The food was given to me and we all sat down to eat. When I finished the pizza, I wanted to eat the crust but it was as hard as a rock, and it did not taste good. It tasted like I was chewing on a marble. The room was very comfortable and cool but it had a very bad smell to it like there had been a bunch of cows walking around in it. There were people in the other room playing pool and ping-pong, but the television had an irritating song playing on it, and it was way too loud. I could not sit there and talk to my friends very much because of that tv.
After we finished our food, we decided to get some ice cream to cap off the dinner. I ended up getting vanilla ice cream with chocolate sprinkles. The ice cream was really runny and the sprinkles were old and hard. It did not taste very good either. After that, we all decided to head up to the room to play the playstation. On the way up to the room, the stairway was dark and you could not see. Someone had shut the lights off, and there was a scary feeling as we headed up the stairs. The railing made screeching sounds when you held on to it. When we got to the room, the hall still had the awful smell of body oder in it. Then we all went to the room and played the playstation for a while.
What has been shown was that one situation can be looked at in two different perspectives. One perspective was a positive one, and the reader will get a good view of the scene and the food. On the other hand, the other perspective is a negative one. After the reader reads the negative perspective he has a bad view of the scene and food. Its amazing how one scene can be played around with and you can make it look good and bad.
In the positive perspective the reader was led to believe that the scene of the meal was an enjoyable one. The reader felt that the food was good and the surroundings were very comfortable. On the other end, the negative side, the reader was led to believe that the meal was awful and not enjoyable. The reader felt that the meal and the surroundings were very bad. Both have the same surroundings, people, and food, but had been shown in two different perspectives.
