With so many different football games out there, it's hard to tell which on is really the best buy for your bucks, but this year's Madden is in a league of its own. All of the added bonuses like the improved graphics enhanced by Playstation 2, has made this the best football game to date.
This year's graphics are just one tiny aspect that makes Madden 2001 the great game it is. Each player on the game has their real life characteristics, so there is no getting the players mixed up. All the teams are equipped with their new uniforms for the 2001 season, which includes the alternate away jersey that wasn't there last year. The best part out of all the graphics improvements is the stadiums. Every teams stadium is like it is in real life and the fans at certain stadiums are a little more energetic as they are in reality.
The speed of the players is another part of the game that was improved greatly this year. This year the faster players on the game have turbo boosters to make them more like their speed on the real fields of the NFL. Smaller running backs of the game such as Warrick Dunn are a lot quicker and move side-to-side better than the bigger offensive players of the game. The best thing that was added this year was the fact that if you constantly use the turbo button on a player, they will eventually get tired unlike in previous years.
One of the main reasons people play football games is to use their favorite team or players and this year's game didn't leave anyone out. Every team has their full roster from the beginning of the season including late signings and rookies. In the fantasy draft mode you can choose your own team and pick through the tons of players on the game from Randy Moss to Troy Aikman.
The last thing that makes this game so great is something really simple .game loading. This years game loads quicker than any game I have ever seen and the fact that you don't have to wait 5 minutes to get started makes this game the total package for a game lovers. A lot of people say that computers can provide the same graphics, faster players, and lots of people availability, but computers can't come close to loading games as fast as they are on the new Playstation system.
So overall I would rank this years Madden at the top of the all-time football game list. This game gets four stars for sure.
