Intoxication isn't necessarily a negative thing, but rather a pleasant as well as popular state of being. An intoxicated person can be a "good drunk" or a "bad drunk". If the drinker consumes the right amount of alcohol he/she will have no unpleasant after-affects. When intoxicated, a person can be a very social and pleasant person, and it also decreases one's shyness towards the opposite sex. Beer and other intoxicating beverages are a good thing if used in moderation. When intoxicated, a person can be pleasant and cheerful, or mean and abusive. From my personal studies, I have found that, my test subject, becomes a much nicer and pleasant person. The test subject, whom we will call Mike and will refer to him from now on by that name, will reconcile with people that he is mad at when drinking. Although there are some other social drinkers that become irritable and mean when drinking beer and other spirits, depending on the person and their attitude, when drunk, he/she can be a very nice and social person. If one drinks the right amount of beer, he/she will not get sick and hung-over the next day. When one drinks their limit, Mike's limit is 6-7 beers, (this is know as a moderately "cheap drunk"), one will 90% of the time experience only the pleasant effects of the alcohol. This is a true fact, but it only applies if one don't become an alcoholic. Over time one can drink more and more beer and become less and less drunk. This is known as tolerance. Now, if one drinks every weekend for a month their tolerance level increases. Then if he/she lays off the beer for a while they must be careful because you tolerance level will decrease, meaning: when his/her level drops, the amount of alcohol that one can drink and not get sick will be much lower, this is important.
When intoxicated you can be a very social and pleasant person. Furthermore, it also decreases your shyness towards the opposite sex. When Mike is intoxicated he tends to forget any bad blood between people he doesn't like so much and himself. People in general, excluding real jerks, will become more social and accepting toward others. When our test subject becomes drunk, he is much more confident and smooth with the other sex; this is the same for most people. When one is under the influence, he/she becomes more confident and happy, most of the time.
In conclusion, beer and other intoxicating beverages are the cause of grief, but are also a very pleasant thing to experience. Depending on the individual and their attitude towards others, they can have a good time or things can turn ugly. But be careful about how much alcohol you drink.
