I plan to major in COMPUTER ENGINEERING, a field where innovations are the order of the day. I have selected this particular field of study because of my solid background in science and mathematics. As a high school senior I am presently enrolled in the
AP CALCULUS BC course. Computer engineering is a field that has fascinated me since I first learnt about it. I am also interested in computers and information technology, I believe if this technology is properly utilized it can help in increasing productivity and economic growth of not only developed but also the developing world.
It is a widely known fact that NYIT is reputed for engineering and especially for COMPUTER ENGINEERING courses. The campus at Manhattan is the best thing as it is ideally located in the heart of the world’s largest financial city, which makes it easier to reach out to competitive markets worldwide.
Besides these the 21st century is knocking at the door in which computer engineers are going to play a big role. Therefore it is imperative that we make the third world countries
Catch up with the computer phenomenon and I would like to pioneer in this field by traveling around these needy nations and set up computer networks to get things moving. This would provide an equal opportunity for all people after all “ALL MEN ARE CREATED EQUAL” should not be a purely textual term it needs to be practiced too.

I am very eager to promote peace in the world through treaties such as the
COMPREHENSIVE TEST BAN TREATY (CTBT), which should be enforced before it’s too late. Through my studies at NYIT I cold go on and volunteer as a scientist who would help dismantle nuclear weapons through computer controlled techniques. I think this would be one of my top career goals as what else could a person ask but an EARTH where peace prevails and no nation could threaten to wipe out the thousands of years old human civilization with just a tiny nucleus.
I think these reasons coupled with the fact that NYIT is the place where I would love to spend my life’s four crucial years is my reasoning behind applying to NYIT.
