Despite sex education at schools, teens are still lacking information on this topic.
Even as more and more discussions about sex increase on TV, movies, and even at school,
many teens are ignorant about he basics of sex. Websites,
like sxetc.com, is a website that dedicates its time to
inform teens about sex and is there to give answers to questions that teens feel they can't get
anywhere else. Teens don't always get the answers they need in schools because
the Illinois school system focuses on abstinence instead. This article says that teens know little about the
basics of arousal, intercourse, or protection from pregnancy and disease. "they're asking elementary stuff.
They don't understand the mechanics." Teens getting sex education in schools
tend to be more knowledgable than those who don't But since teens aren't geting this, webites, the radioand other
available help is where they turn to Teens for instance, may feel a lot more
comfortable going to websites because they can be totally anonamous. The site is just like
a mbig communjity full of people just like you with the same questions you're just about to ask.
Even with websites and resources continuing to increase to answer the questions of lost and confused teens, sex education in
classrooms should still exist. Along with educationin classrooms, parents should also take their part in teaching their
children. Parents should be able to have the relationship with their childre to at least inform them about he basics of
sex. Together classroom, in-home, and other resources, the right information can be reached to kids before anything
unexpected happens. So with proper education, teen pregnancy will decrease.
