My project was on eating disorders, mainly anorexia nervosa and bulimia nervosa.Eating disorders are strong expressions of food and weight concerns. People with eating disorders often control their liver by controlling their weight. Thinness is an important measure of self worth for these individuals. it affects all ages, color, occupation, and social class. For every nine female struggling with an eating disorder there one male. It also affects males. Anorexia nervosa: meaning loss of appetiteAnorexia is the process to eat as little possible so they become dangerously thin. It affects teenage girls mainly. Actions leading to anorexia and bulima it starts by trying to deal with fat. The possible signs of anorexia:- loss of 15 % or mor of normal body weight- regularly taking in less than 1,000calories a day - amenorrhea menstrual periods stop ( very common sign of starvation, the can t afford to lose nutrients through menstrual blood)

- doesn t maintain a min. body weight- seeing food as an enemy - feeling diet has taken over one s life- continual exercise, late at night or odd times- pacing around-rushing from the table to purge or vomit after eating or when there forced to eat- fear of gaining weight-binge period followed by starvation - thinking that they are fat when they are not - intense fear of being overweight, even when they are not heavy or has been losing weight Anorexics begin their disorder by being normal weight, gaining weight, and trying t lose the weight. They lose the weight then they become obsessed with diets, weight loss, and appearance. They won t stop dieting until they reach normal weight but they exercise obsessively. Thy also use vomiting, laxatives, diet pills, and diuretics medication that helps the body to lose water, through urinating. They feel they are in control or superior powers of control when really they are the one s being controlled. Aner
