It was the last game before the playoffs start. My team had to win this game and if so we would have good chance of playing in the Stanley Cup. As the ref dropped the puck I tried to get it away from the other player. I got it away to one my teammates and he passed to Jeremy Ronick. Ronick took the shot and scored. We were up already and only 2 minutes passed by in the game. I knew that this was going to be a good game.

As the clock wound down to the last seconds of the 1st period I held the puck with my skate. "Buzzzzzzzz" went the clock as the period was over. We headed to our locker room when all of a sudden I fell. I didn't know what happened. I finally figured out that I got shot. I looked up and I saw the rest running. Everyone was looking at me. I was in pain. I passed out and then I remembered waking up in the hospital. They took the bullet out and saved me. I had to stay in the hospital for 2 weeks.

My team advanced to the playoffs. They beat the Avalanche, then they went on and beat New York and Tampa Bay. They got to the Stanley Cup without me. I was mad. The Stanley Cup was in 2 days and I had 4 more days until I could go back home. They are going to play the St. Louis Blues in the Stanley Cup. I was determined to catch the terrorist once I got out.

It was game time. I watched the game on TV in the hospital. As the ref threw the puck I glanced over into the crowd and I saw the terrorist. I figured I should act quick. So I called the cop that was guarding my room. I told him that's the man. I tried to get up but the cop wouldn't let me get up. He said that he would inform the station. He left the room. "He shoots. He scores!" I heard on the TV. My team scored. We were up by one. The score was "Blackhawks 1, blues 0" as the time of the 1st period wore down.

As I watched the clock on its last seconds end the first period I saw the cops escorting the terrorist out of the building. I jumped for joy in my hospital bed. Thirty minutes later the game was over. My team won the 1996 Stanley Cup. They did it without me. I was so proud.
