Cloning humans is unethical because the clone is not born the normal way, but is created from one parent instead of two by duplicating someone s DNA. Therefore it is causing the clone to be neglected the two-parent family. Some of the scientist that cloned the sheep Dolly says cloning the sheep was a complete success but all are convinced that cloning humans is ethically wrong and should not be allowed. (Kestenbaum, David, 1965) Frank Monton explains that there is now worldwide recognition from governments, professional medical bodies and bioethics committees that to clone a human would be unethical (Monton, Frank, C4). Monton adds It s unethical because the clone is not being born the normal human way. (Monton, C4) Lee Siegal clarifies why cloning is unethical in this way:
When cloning a human, it is not the normal way life is created. Normally a child is born into the world by way of sexual intercourse but a clone on the other side will be created abnormally through science. (Siegal, Lee, 42A)
Seigal also felt that in a normal birth, the child has two parents that actually created the child but in cloning the clone would be deprived of the normal two-parent family. (Seigal, 42A) The National Assembly is looking into a law forbidding human cloning. The law has been decided to be reviewed due to the ethical confrontations which have come about since the cloning of Dolly the sheep; that clones will be ignored the normal birth right and two parent family. (Kestenbaum, 1965) There is little support among the public to clone humans. Most people just believe that cloning is just plain unethical and would be cruel to the clone. (Kestenbaum, 1966)
