Cleopatra
One of the most popular pharos of Egypt has to be King Tut, The youngest ruler of Egypt. However, one of the most interesting is without-a- doubt Cleopatra. One of the intriguing parts about her was her son Ptolemy Caesar. Ptolemy Caesar, (The son of Julius Caesar), was one of main factors in the fall of Rome. Some of the things that could be linked to Ptolemy would be Caesar's assassination, the civil war between Octavious Caesar and Mark Antony and the death of his mother Cleopatra. This essay will be based on these accusations.
First off, one of the greatest achievements of Julius Caesar would be the "Relationship" between himself and Cleopatra. One of the biggest events of this would be the birth of his son. The birth brought the council of Rome to believe that Caesar was getting to powerful and would bring Rome to it's knees. This revolt would be born by the jealousy of Caesar's adopted son Octavious. Octavious feared that the son of Caesar would be the true heir of the throne. Octavious convinced the council that Caesar was getting to powerful and must be stopped. Thus lead to the unexpected assassination of Julius Caesar.
Besides the death of Caesar, Ptolomey could have well been the reason for civil war. Marc Antony, (Caesar's most trusted horse master), was entitled to half of the Roman empire while sharing the other half with Octavious. Octavious and Antony made a marriage with each other which was later used to create a civil war. Octavious declared war with Egypt and the eastern side of Rome. Octavious was afraid that if ptolomey came to rule that he would be kicked off the council and not have any leadership over Rome.
Beyond the civil war, ptolomey was one of the many reasons that lead to Cleopatra's death. Cleopatra was the pharoe of Egypt and mother of Ptolomey. Not only was she with Caesar but years past she ended up as partners with Marc Antony. The civil war winded up with the death of Antony and the total rule of Rome by Octavious. After the war Egypt was brought to its knees and so was Cleopatra. Octavious forced Cleopatra to come back to Rome with him and she agreed. Before he had the chance to take her away, she killed herself and left Egypt to be ruled by Ptolomey.
Although ptolomey was a big player in this, he was probably the one least effected buy the actions that took place. This story was the true life of Rome and its fall along with Egypt. One thing that cannot be denied is the fact the greed can change a whole empire and those in it.
