1. The major advantage offered from IBM is the name itself. IBM is a well-known company that has been around for a while. If Jerry thinks about his future there is probably a better chance for him to climb the corporate ladder working at IBM then any of his other offers.

2. The reason the family business is so competitive with the IBM offer is because he can stay at home and work for his dad who obviously he can trust. Jerry also has the opportunity to one-day take over the family business when his dad retires. One of the main reasons it is so competitive is the money factor. Jerry’s dad would match any offer he would get from IBM and probably give him some incentives.

3. I don’t think Jerry has an obligation to provide leadership for the family business. He has the right to turn down the family business if some other company can offer him something better. Jerry has to think about not only what would be good for him and his wife now but also what would be right for them in the future.

4. I believe Jerry might have some obligation to his wife, they are married and are supposed to come to an understanding on all situations. His wife has helped him pay for his last two years in school so he could owe her something. Jerry not only has to think about himself but also his wife.

5. Jerry should do what he wants to do to a point. Jerry and his wife should both agree on where to move because his wife would then still have to find a job. They both have to think about what would be best for their future. I don’t think Jerry knows what he wants to do nor does it seem like he will any time soon.

6. I think if Jerry were smart he would just listen to his wife. It seems like Jerry won’t be able to decide what he wants to do so he should just listen to his wife and make her happy. Jerry has an important career choice to consider so he should go over all of his options and just decide what would work out best for him and his wife in the long haul.
