a) Information

Sexually transmitted diseases or STD's are infectious diseases that can be

spread by sexual contact. Some can also be transmitted by nonsexual means,

but these make up a majority of the total number of cases. An estimated 10 to

12 million Americans have sexually transmitted diseases, several kinds of

which are epidemic, including gonorrhea, infections of the urethra not caused

by gonorrhea genital herpes virus genital warts, scabs and urethral and vaginal

infections caused by the bacterium Chlamydia trachomatis the protozoan

Trichonomas , and the yeast monilia. A number of surveys have shown that

sexually transmitted diseases in the United States affect people of both sexes,

of all races, and of every economic status.

The symptoms of herpes vary depending upon the sex that you are. Mostly in

women the initial infection occurs about three weeks after the sexual contact with

the contagious person. During this first stage, the infected area becomes

extremely painful and swollen. An itchy sensation occurs in the vulva or vagina

and is followed by fevers, headaches, or flu like symptoms. After that blisters

begin to form, these blisters or sores that have formed can last up to one week or

10 days. After they rupture and new skin is formed the immune system makes a

defense on this disease. In males pain, tenderness, or itching sensations occur

before the blisters that are located around the penis.

The danger of herpes is the same for sexes; men and women. Herpes is a

inconvenient and uncomfortable disease that fortunately cause few medical

complications. Most of the real damage that happens to a woman is the

unwanted social stigma. Herpes attacks a woman's control of her own body.

Studies have shown a slight increase of developing cervical cancer due to the

herpes virus. If you have the herpes virus, and has been in contact with your eye

by touching the eye after touching an active lesion) it can cause herpes keratis, a

form of herpes that can cause blindness.if a pregnant woman should have this

disease, which is very rare the baby could suffer defects in the brain and the

central nervous system. If a new born infant should have this disease the infant

will surely die.

There is not that many types of the disease herpes. The two main type of herpes

is genital herpes and plain herpes. The difference between the two is that in

genital herpes the infected area is in the genital portion of the body. In a male it

would be his penis and in a woman it would be her vagina. Genital herpes is the

most dangerous type of herpes that there is. Studies have proven tha if genital

herpes is not medicated right away it can form some type of cancer. The regular

herpes it looks just like cold sores and can be anywhere one the body. And if

properly medicated could go away in about a week.

Coping with the stress that herpes can cause is very easy if done correctly. It is

clinically proven that high levels of stress are often self imposed. Whether it be

from work or from some sort of medical disease. A food to eat when dealing with

stress is peanuts, sunflower seeds, chocolate, soybeans, gelatin, carob, and

coconut. All of the foods listed are high in arginine. Arginine is a type of vitamin

that relieves stress and also has been tested to reduce the risk of herpes.

Normally in any case when you are sick it is wise to take vitamins, this is also

true in stress relief. The main vitamin to look for is vitamin c.

In conclusion herpes is a embarrassing, unfortunate disease. Herpes is not a

fatal disease. Who knows you or even me might be carrying this disease. Herpes

is a pesky disease that involves blisters, bumps, cold sores, and even irritation to

extremely embarrassing place on your body. There is good news though. The

disease called herpes will go away in one week to 10 days if treated correctly.

There are ways to prevent herpes from ever happening, Test out you and also

your sexual partner before engaging in sexual contact. Eat foods with arginine in

it. Such foods are peanuts, coconuts and etc. Another thing is if you have been

contacted with this disease see a gynecologist if you are a woman and for male

see you normal doctor for more details on this certain disease called herpes, also

to get more information go to your local library and see Controlling Herpes

Naturally by M. Picozzi.

This information is completely inacccurate. You are suppose to avoid foods containing arginine such as:
· chocolate
· peanuts
· almonds
· cashews
· walnuts
· sunflower seeds
· sesame seeds
coconut

Lysine 3,000 mg. daily should be taken...not arginine!

The person that wrote this is completely incorrect and has numerous spelling errors.
