The Performance
I am staring at the thing that brings my heart joy,
The thing that gives my life meaning.
A feeling that always allows me to be free,
To always express my true feeling.
My heart is sown with the melody released,
As the flow comes bubbling out of me.
When my fingers gently touch the keys,
My soul releases intensity.
My hands start to play, my eyes are closed,
It begins to speak to me.
The music I feel that has been composed,
Now a river flowing free.
When the last bar is played and the last note is felt,
You will find what your music has gained.
To the ears that have listened, to the hearts that have heard,
And the blessing that has been sustained.
