Compare or Contrast Essay

The most exciting thing in the world is going to see your favorite band or bands in concert. My two favorite bands to see in concert are the Stone Temple Pilots and the Dave Matthews Band. These bands are similar in some aspects, but completely different in most.

For instance, both of these bands have very unique stage performances. Unlike the Stone Temple Pilots, Dave Matthews shows are more powered by his music, instead of dances. Recently I attended a Dave Matthews concert in Ohio. Now, I have been to several concerts in the past, but I have never seen such a joyful aura over the whole audience. Dave has an amazing way of making people happy while he is on stage. On the other hand, the Stone Temple Pilots have a magical way of hypnotizing their fans. They do this by more elaborate movements and slithering dance moves.

Both of these bands have deep modern lyrics, but The Stone Temple Pilots lyrics are more about troubled times. They are not a depressing band, but they have more of a sad undertone. For example, one of their songs talks about how the time has come to make a change in life and to move on to bigger and better things. Dave Matthews has more up lifting lyrics. Most of Dave Matthews songs are about how wonderful love and life are. For example, one of his songs describes the meeting of a man and a woman as if it was like a crash.

The Stone Temple Pilots and Dave Matthews are both very talented musically. Dave has a more classical sound to his music. He gets this different sound by using more acoustic instruments then the Pilots. Not only do his lyrics touch you, but also his music speaks to your heart. The Stone Temple Pilots, however, are also very musically inclined. Their type of music consists of a more rock and roll feel. In their music the loud strings of an electric guitar are just as touching as the soft gentle strings of an acoustic. They also use a lot of synthesize beats and riffs.

Even though these two bands are completely different in their styles, they both have what it takes to last in the music world. Both have unique stage performances, outstanding lyrics, and creative music.
