The word of the Lord came to me saying, Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you before you were born I set you apart (Jeremiah 1:4-6) What do you think about abortion? Do you agree with it, or think it s wrong? While only nineteen percent of people think it s a woman s choice, eighty-one percent think it s MURDER! A twelve-year-old girl is getting helped not to have an abortion because the baby is a separate living human being within the mother, and abortion is wrong. Scotland s Catholic Church has offered a twelve-year-old girl who is pregnant by her fifteen-year-old boyfriend everything from a crib and clothing, as well as money not to have an abortion. Abortion-rights call it bribery. Monsignor, Tom Conelly says the girl s unemployed father came to the church insisting his daughter who is now six months pregnant, wants to have the baby but he and his wife could not afford even the bare necessities. We have to give help where it s needed and where it s asked for remember. We don t go out touting for business, (Conelly, Internet) Pro-choice groups sharply criticized the move; saying it was bribe and that the girl s life could be endangered by going through with the pregnancy. However, after a pregnancy you don t have what they call Post-pregnancy Syndrome. You don t hallucinate, re-live the experience, and have nightmares where your child comes to haunt you. This was a decision taken by the girl and her parents, said Conelly. Pro-choice activists said the church was preying on young girls who are probably pressured from parents or religion to keep the baby. If this girl wants to keep her baby, how dare the abortionist force her to other wise. ( Crispzine, Internet) How would you feel if you were forced to abort a baby just because you were poor?What are you? Pro-life? Or Pro-abortion? Out of seven hundred eleven polled on the Internet only one hundred eighty-three or twenty-six percent believe that abortion is right. Seventy-four percent, or the other five hundred twenty-eight people think it s WRONG. Your hands shaped me and made me. Will you now turn and destroy me? Remember that you molded me like clay. Is abortion murder? Webster s Dictionary defines murder as the violent taking of human life. Certainly, according to Webster s Dictionary abortion is murder! Furthermore, regardless if the infant is nine minutes, or nine months, abortion is murder. We are told in the Old Testament that if a man (or woman) would do anything to cause a woman to lose her baby, he MUST be punished. (Exodus 21:22) While I won t go into all of the different ways to kill a baby, how does a person take the life of earth s inhabitants in a non-violent manner? What defense can they raise? Can they raise an angry fist and strike back at the abortionist s scalpel? How can they escape the abortionists probe as they approach their tiny skull to suck their brains out? Where can they hide to avoid the hideous, painful, agonizing death that surely awaits them at the abortionist s hand? In addition, is that which grows in the womb a human baby? Is it living or merely a mass of dead tissue? I read where one scientist said a fetus was an unwanted parasite. However, even at that, the same scientist would be forced to admit that parasites have life; they ARE living. Webster s defines parasite as "...an animal or plant that lives on or IN a living organism. What defines human life? Is it something that has a heartbeat? Or is it something that has a brain pattern? A baby has a heartbeat three weeks after conception and a brain pattern six weeks. (Abortion, Interent) Humans don t give birth to any type of creature other than humans. That is ridiculous to think that an unborn baby is not human. In closing, abortion is wrong. What s so bad about a church offering money to the less fortunate so that they can have a child? Put yourself in her situation, how would it make you feel if your parents forced you to have an abortion and lose your child just because they didn t have the money to pay for the baby? My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place. When I was woven together in the depths of the earth, your eyes saw my unformed body. (Psalms 139:15-16) You shall not murder, the sixth commandment. (Exodus 20:13) Clearly, abortion is murder.
